Earlier this year, Whitehaven announced the largest Whitehaven to ever be built; the Whitehaven 8000. This much anticipated yacht has emerged from the yard and loaded onto a ship bound for Brisbane.
Her owners, Ray and Denise, are counting down the days until she arrives Australia for pre-delivery and then she is theirs. The rest of the world will have the chance to see the Whitehaven 8000 at the Festival of Boating in Sanctuary Cove in November 2020.
The Whitehaven 8000 is an 80-foot sports yachts and Ray and Denise’s third Whitehaven. They love the process of designing their boat and watching it being built. Literally. Usually, they would make several trips to the yard to oversee the build and tweak where necessary. This time around, they were able to have one trip at the start of the build before borders closed.
Yet this did not mean Ray and Denise were not heavily involved in the build. Through photos and regular communication, they kept a watchful eye over their new boat. It is times like these that Whitehaven owners have confidence and comfort in the groundwork the Australian team has undertaken to put quality control, design and production methods in place in the yard. Despite global mayhem, the build marched on smoothly.
Panache remained on track for delivery to Australia in September and that is indeed, when she will arrive.
Based on the Whitehaven 7500 Sports yacht, Panache’s extended hull length allows for more internal space as well as a large tender garage. It is a must-have for Ray and Denise. Living and boating in Australia’s remote, rugged and unforgiving Northern Territory, a large aluminium tender is an essential piece of equipment as the couple plan to cruise as far west as the Kimberley as well as around the top and down the East Coast. An impressive cruising range which this motor yacht is more than capable of conquering.
If you are interested in viewing Panache, join us at the Festival of Boating presented by SCIBS from 13 to 15 November 2020 on the Gold Coast!
